The Adventurer attribute mainly focuses on link attacking to trigger its effects. They also deal a lot of damage to the opponent, through penetrating the center monster.
They also have an exclusive set of spells called "Mission Cards." These cards help with a bit of life gain, searching Adventurers from your deck, gain hand advantage from destroying opponent's monsters, and also retrieving back some of your buddies from the drop zone.
To start of the introduction of the party members, the main Buddy of the anime comes first. Brave, Drum. Drum is a staple because of his ability, Soul Guard. This is important because he could stay in field for a longer time. His other ability, "Junk Drill" let's him have Penetrate when you attack your opponent's monster in the center and win a Rock-Paper-Scissors Game with your opponent. This is really deadly since his critical is at 3.
The next member of the party is its own leader! Legendary Brave, Tasuku! Tasuku is here because of his insane Penetrate ability. When this card link attacks with another Adventurer, choose one of the cards that link attacked, and both this and that card get Pentetrate. This ability is really good against play styles that involve placing a heavy defense monster on the center. (Sieger, Gokuen, etc.) Other than having a powerful piercing strike, his Power stats is at 5000. This really makes it easier to go through those thick walls. The only down side of this Legendary Brave, is that he dies at the end of the turn and he costs 2 gauge. Yes two gauge!
The next staple is not part of the main party of adventurers but is a member of Team GM instead. It's Missile Magician, Addrick! I have a strange feeling about this card... His looks and his flavor text is suspicious, hmmm... Moving on! Addrick is part of the gang mostly for one thing. Poke! His ability, "Bolt Arrow" let's him deal 1 damage to the opponent as soon as he link attacks with another Adventurer. This is useful because you successfully deal 1 instant damage to your opponent when you link attack. (Note that the attack doesn't have to go through.)
The last and the most important member of the party would be one of Gao's other buddies, but this one's not a dragon, but a human! Dancing Magician, Tetsuya.
Even though Tetsuya has poor stats, his powerful ability "Def, lyric!" makes up for it! "Def, lyric!" triggers when this card link attacks with another Adventurer, you could choose one card that participated in the link attack, and that card gets Double Attack.
This ability is really strong because like I said with Brave, Drum, it's really deadly. If you give Drum the Double Attack, and the opponent has a monster with or without Soul Guard in the center, you could get over the monster while dealing 6 damage to your opponent, if you win the Rock-Paper-Scissors. You could also deal four attacks/two link attacks with Penetrate if you give the ability to Legendary Brave, Tasuku and if you have another Adventurer on the field. Also, you could deal 3 poke damage to your opponent with Missile Magician, Addrick. If you have two Addricks and one of these, you could link attack with the first Addrick to deal 1 poke damage, then stand the first Addrick and link attack again with your second, which deals 2 poke damage. Now that you understand this card's power, you now understand why it's a staple.
The next staple is not part of the main party, neither is it on any other team or party, because Brave Equipment, Glory Seeker is an item! This item is a staple because its very cheap! Discard a card from your hand for a weapon that has 5000/3 stats. But wait, there's more! "Miracle Revival" is a very powerful ability. When your life reaches 0, place this card into the drop zone, and reveal the top card of your deck and place it in the drop zone. If the revealed card is a Spell, your life becomes 3!
The next few staples that I will be talking about are part of an exclusive set of set spells in Dungeon World. They are called "Mission Cards."
The first and main Mission card is Mission Card "Form a Party!" or what other people like to call it: F.A.P. Form a Party! is a Set Spell that only works when you use the other Mission Cards. It's effect is if you set another card with "Mission" in its card name, you gain 1 life then get a chance to search for an Adventurer card from you deck and place it in your hand. Shuffle your deck and place this card into the drop zone. This card is really important to the Adventurer's attribute because this helps the player gain extra life and help search cards that you need from your deck. Note that it only says "Adventurer" so it is not exclusive only to monster cards, but also to spells, items, or impacts. (Continue!, Glory Seeker, Dead End Crush, etc.)The second Mission card is Mission Card "Defeat Monsters!"
Have you
ever killed dungeon spawns from an RPG game? Did you get loot from the dead
corpse? Well, Mission Card "Defeat Monsters!" basically is the same.
When you destroy an opponent's monster with an Adventurer, put the top card of
your deck, face down to this card's soul. When this card's soul reaches 2 or
more, you may put all souls to your hand then place this card on the drop zone.
(You may only have one Mission Card " Defeat Monsters! on your field.)
This card is really good because you gain both field and hand advantage at the same time by killing your
opponent's monsters.
